Kilowatt AV for rhinos

06 October 2011

This year more than 288 rhinos have been poached in South Africa. Dillon Jearey, Managing Director of Kilowatt AV, recently participated in the Ride the Rhino Corporate MTB Challenge held from Langebaan to Durbanville, over three days, to create awareness of this plight.

“Proudly we rode with DWR by our side!” said Dillon, who sent in these great pics of the 3 day stage race.

Renosterveld once stretched from Vanrhynsdorp in the west, passing Table Mountain to Mossel Bay in the East. Today, however, only 4% remains. Renosterveld Events, who arranged the event, strive to follow the awareness of the route by owning the west coast of South Africa. Their passions are community (people) and conservation (planet), and with the Ride the Rhino event, an understanding of both is created.

Ride the Rhino is a three day stage event, covering an estimated 300 kilometres.  The main beneficiary is the Renosterveld Trust, followed by the improvement of communities along the route such as the !Khwa Ttu San Foundation, Malmesbury schools, Camphill Village, Ons Nessie Outreach Foundation and Groeneweide Old Age Home.

You go Kilowatt AV! It’s great to have passion, especially when it can make a difference to someone else’s life.
