DWR, the Impression agents

17 July 2009

It is DWR Distribution’s privilege to be the South African agents for impression luminaries, an impressive LED moving light range.

All over the world, the impression, built by GLP German Light Products, is receiving accolades with its rich colours, low power consumption, and as the units are small and easy to work with, useful in various applications. The impression walked away with the Live Design Product of the Year Award in 2008. The units can be seen at work on various tours such as Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Donna Summer, Goo Goo Dolls, Nickleback, and Billy Joel / Elton John Tours. They can be seen on shows such WWE Wrestling, So you think you can dance Australia and BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, but are as comfortable working on large stages such as the Bavarian State Opera or on the other end of the stick, showing off at motor shows as they did at the Audi stand at the Geneva Motor Show 2009.

For DWR it’s a product that so far has offered reliability, performance and LED technology that’s really simple but offers value for money. Without a base, the units become lighter, smaller and easier to handle. Using high efficient Luxeon K2 LEDs, impressions offer a 50% energy saving over traditional 575W fixtures with an output that equals a 700W washlight in colours, which is naturally better for the environment. Riggers will be impressed with the reduced weight, enabling the units to be used on low-weight bearing structures. In addition, the impressions don’t generate as much heat, and even at low intensities, the impression provides smooth flicker-free operation for use on TV with any type of camera.
