Lighting Workshop to help Church teams

Whether lighting a theatre production, a corporate event or a church stage, the principles of lighting remain the same. The emphasis of lighting in a Church environment is to enhance and compliment the Pastor and the Worship team not to compete with them. Used correctly, lighting can be instrumental in presenting a clear and meaningful message to the congregation.

With years of experience as a lighting designer, Michael-Taylor Broderick looks forward to presenting a Lighting Workshop targeted at church technicians and technical volunteers on 6 April from 9 am to 4 pm at DWR Distribution, Johannesburg.

A lighting rig, with its fixtures placed in the best possible position, hung and focused at the right angle, using the right intensity and the right colour makes all the difference, transforming the look and feel of a performance space. Come and be inspired as Michael shares the creative and beautiful ideas he has incorporated on numerous stages. On a practical level, Michael will use an MA Lighting console to demonstrate different looks and help provide a better understanding of lighting design.

The cost to attend is R200, nonrefundable, per person and includes a light lunch and refreshments.
