DWR Distribution is pleased to welcome Ruud de Deugd back to South Africa as he presents a certified Rigging Training Course on 30 January to 4 February 2023 from 9am to 4pm at our offices in Johannesburg.
With almost twenty years of experience, lecturer Ruud de Deugd specialises in rigging and structures for events in the entertainment industry. He always smiles when recalling how he joined the industry as a teenager, asking to if he could work for free during the load in of GrolschLive38, a festival hosted in Rotterdam. He enjoyed it so much that soon after he started working as an all-round technician before going back to school to qualify in mechanical engineering. Ruud’s career included working at truss manufacturer Prolyte before starting his own company T&E Support which provides advisory, engineering, supervision and training services in the field of temporary demountable structures and where he regularly carries out rigging for events. Today T&E Support is a world-class service provider and is a member of the relevant division of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN/TC 152 WG3), which is responsible for setting industry standards for event structures in the EU.
Ruud looks forward to sharing his extensive knowledge over the practical six-day rigging course covering safety, maintenance, lifting materials, force calculations and load tables.
Those interested in attending must be competent in Mathematics. Delegates who pass the examination will receive certification and SACIA CPD points.
The cost is R10 500 per person and includes lunch. Kindly note that delegates are required to bring the following items:

1 x blue pen
1 x scientific calculator
