Michael Taylor-Broderick presents the Theatre Lighting Design workshop hosted on 6 and 7 April in Johannesburg at DWR Distribution. This course will also be held in Durban on 15 & 16 April and in Cape Town on 21 and 21 April.

The key role of the lighting designer is to enhance the performance on stage and not detract from it. With years of experience as a lighting designer Michael’s emphasis is always to inspire passion among the young technicians in the industry as he takes them on a journey which includes some of the theatre projects he has worked on. Having written and directed a number of his own theatre productions Michael also offers a unique insight into the role and expectations that rest on the shoulders of the Designer. In addition, he’ll cover the objectives of stage lighting, controllable properties of light, lighting positions and angles, light and colour, lighting instruments and elements of design. The course is a great foundation for those wanting to step into the world of theatre lighting or who would like to look at any live production with new eyes.

The two-day workshop will be hosted at DWR Distribution offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

The course is Free of Charge – Kindly supply your own packed lunch.
