New gear for Omega Digital’s Events and Onsite Crew

Omega Digital’s Events and Onsite Crew—known for delivering smooth hybrid and virtual event experiences—have taken delivery of an RCF HDL 26-A Line Array System, a grandMA3 onPC command wing XT lighting console, a selection of ADJ fixtures, BirdDog cameras, and GM5 Stage Decks.

“This is an exciting opportunity to grow the business,” said Jonathan Hayes, managing director at Omega Events. “We decided to invest heavily in the events side so we can confidently take on larger spaces and offer a bigger audio experience—especially for audiences of 400 to 500 people and up.”

It was all smiles from Coenraad Stoop and Rudi Landman from Omega who collected the new equipment from DWR Distribution. “Most of the gear is going straight onto a job, and we’re super excited,” said Rudi Landman. “We’ve configured all the speakers—everything is ready to go.”

The grandMA3 onPC command wing XT marks a fresh step forward for Omega’s lighting team. Although MA Lighting is new to them, they have turned to YouTube tutorials and will receive practical training from DWR.

The new lighting fixtures include two ADJ Focus Flex L19s—a powerful moving head with 19 individually controllable 40-Watt RGBL LEDs—and two ADJ Focus Profiles. Supporting the system is an ADJ Net 8, an 8-port DMX-over-Ethernet node designed for convenient 19-inch rack mounting.

Omega has also boosted its video and streaming setup with six flight-cased BirdDog X5 Ultras and two KBD PTZ Controllers.

The BirdDog X5 Ultra is a high-end PTZ camera. Its sensor, AI features, and NDI-HX3 capability make it a great choice for live events. It includes a bright, daylight-visible tally light and supports a wide range of connectivity options, including NDI-HX, SRT, and USB webcam mode.

“What really sold me was the low-light performance,” Coenraad explained. “And once you add stage lighting, they really shine. The controller is great too—the joystick feels natural, and setup is easy. I also love that each camera displays its IP address on the outside and keeps that info even when powered off. It makes moving from job to job so much easier.”

The new RCF HDL system includes eight HDL 26-A units and two HDL 35-A active flyable subs—known for their reliability and first-class performance.

While equipment plays a big role, Omega’s true strength lies in its people.

“What makes Omega such a special place to work is that everyone genuinely cares,” said Coenraad. “It’s never just about setting up gear. Clients often arrive with last-minute changes or clutching a USB stick minutes before going on stage, but we stay calm and make it work. That ability to adapt is what sets us apart.”

Dylan Jones from DWR concludes, “Thank you to Omega for your continued support. You’re an amazing team that works hard and takes real pride in what you deliver. We hope you enjoy the new gear and that it serves you well.”
