Endeavour Audio Visual Solutions may be the new kid on the block, only established in Johannesburg in 2021, but company owners Richard Horwell and Kelvin Tilley jointly have fourty years’ experience in the live events industry. They have just taken delivery of Absen NT2.9 panels through DWR Distribution which were promptly deployed for a corporate event.
Embarking on their business venture, Richard and Kelvin recognized that the cornerstone would be exceptional service provided by a team of extensively trained professionals. Simultaneously, they aimed to secure access to state-of-the-art technology to cater comprehensively to event needs, encompassing lighting, audio, AV prerequisites, and naturally, design considerations.
Having pursued studies in audio engineering, Richard subsequently devoted two decades to a technical supply company, engaging in a wide array of tasks spanning from lighting to AV. The upheaval caused by the onset of Covid-19, which significantly disrupted the live events sector, served as the impetus that compelled the duo to embark on establishing a new company. Since then, they have not looked back.
“I was fourty when I started and I wasn’t this grey either,” Richard grins. “But at the time, things weren’t going well in the industry, and it was time to do something.”
Despite being a relatively new company, the pair have spent countless years in the industry and there is an expectation for them to deliver. Says Kelvin Tilley, “We’ve built relationships over a couple of decades and people expect us to not only provide a professional package but to compete with larger industry players. This investment gives us the opportunity to offer a better product than ever before, and being an inhouse solution, at a more competitive price point.”
To keep up with an increasing demand for LED panels on shows, Endeavour Audio Visual procured Absen N2 2.9 panels. “We chose Absen because it’s the best LED available to us,” says Richard. “There is also so much of it around, which means that if we need more, it’s available. We also love Dylan Jones from DWR and look forward to moving onto bigger and better things.”
