Doughty Engineering has been recognised with a PLASA Innovation Award for the second consecutive year, this time for its new Pre-Rig Quick Trigger Hook Clamp.

“It’s a Quick Trigger clamp that fits on square and round tube, so it’s very versatile,” explains Julian Chiverton, Sales Director at Doughty. “Many of the Pre-Rig Trusses now and in development have a square hanging bar to eliminate slip, which can be a problem with large moving lights. The new Pre-Rig Trigger eliminates this movement. It’s IP rated and comes complete with a stainless steel nut and bolt set. You will also be pleased to hear that it has a design copyright and TÜV approval.”

The Pre-Rig Quick Trigger Hook Clamp is the latest addition to Doughty Engineering’s industry-standard Quick Trigger range and the first clamp designed for use on both 50mm (2″) square tube and Ø48–51mm round tube.

Developed for pre-rig truss applications, it combines rapid, tool-free installation with the flexibility to work across multiple rigging systems. The innovative 45° indexed body and trigger allow secure outrigging and over-rigging on square sections, while a captive M12 fixing arrangement simplifies installation and improves efficiency.

It is designed to be tightened by hand for more efficient installation, with no tools required, and features a fine thread for increased tightening torque and improved grip. It is supplied with an A4 stainless steel M12 x 45 fixing kit.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the clamp features an IP-rated all-weather construction, high-strength AW6082 T6 aluminium, and corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel components for reliable long-term outdoor performance.
