With the sun overhead and music in the air, the Castle of Good Hope transformed into a daytime playground of rhythm and colour as the Kiss Kiss Festival, this year themed ‘Where’s Your Head At’, returned to Cape Town headlined by UK electronic legends Basement Jaxx and featured other artists including Mr Cutts, Internet Girl, Mafikizolo, DJ Ready D, and Desmond and the Tutus.

At the heart of the celebration was Ultra Event Technical Solutions, supporting industry friends Golden Circle, bringing the structures and visual magic with a massive Absen LED installation. Under the Cape Town sky, 120m2 of Absen NT3.9W V2 lightweight outdoor panels came together to form a bright canvas that pulsed and danced.

“When we have the privilege of working on events like these, alongside other tremendous technical and production companies, like Golden Circle, it always hits home why we do what we do,” said Costa Champanis, founder of Ultra Events. “Seeing people enjoy the beautiful weather, good food, music, and the spirit of being together is incredibly rewarding. I am really proud of the ULTRA technical team. With an event like this, there is definitely a strong sense of camaraderie amongst everyone. They set up the LED display in just one day. The units are lightweight and user-friendly, but more importantly, they have creatively changed the way events are brought together.”

A big shout-out to Bad Weather, who led and provided the video content. Golden Circle handled technical production, sound, and lighting, featuring Robe Lighting and ADJ on stage, while Matthew Mitchell was in control of lighting via a grandMA3 light console.

Cape Town’s popular street-side watering hole, Blondie, first launched and curated the Kiss Kiss festival in November 2025. The culture-led daytime event moves beyond the ordinary. It has been described as a wonderful music and food experience, featuring detailed production, showcasing culinary talent, and creating an uplifting atmosphere.
