DWR Distribution officially opened the Aubrey Ndaba Training Centre on 5 September with a ribbon-cutting ceremony honouring the late industry legend. Aubrey Ndaba’s family attended as special guests, making the day especially meaningful.

Training has always been at the heart of DWR, and as it has become a regular part of the company, a revamped training room and new dining area were created. Naming it after Aubrey, who passed away in May 2024, was a natural choice. A long-time friend and mentor, Aubrey inspired countless young technicians and had a true passion for sharing knowledge.

The event included heartfelt tributes from Duncan and Bruce Riley and Eazy Moeketsi, while delegates on DWR’s Network Training course and the DWR and Install Crew teams joined the celebration.

DWR extends thanks to Debbie Buchanan, the DWR team, the Install Crew, Sets Drapes Sreens, part of the Gearhouse Group, and all who spent countless hours creating the new and beautiful training room. Thanks also to Mars from Kudos Creative for the striking mural of Aubrey that now welcomes visitors to the centre.

In loving memory of Aubrey Ndaba (18 December 1967 – 1 May 2024). Your laughter and legacy live on in the training centre dedicated to you. We’ll always remember what you stood for: “The customer always comes first and the show must go on.”
