Creative Kilowatt, the Bloemfontein-based technical supply company that has been making waves this year, has invested in RCF’s revolutionary HDL 30-A Line Array, supplied by DWR Distribution.
“We wanted a scalable PA to grow with our events,” said Stefan van Biljon, owner of Creative Kilowatt. “The value, technology, and DWR’s support convinced me.”
The company has had an exciting and productive year, expanding their inventory with Absen Screens, MPT Towers, and Chainmaster Motors. Their latest addition, the RCF HDL 30-A sound system, was put straight to work in Bloemfontein at major events including the Free State Arts Festival, a G20 function at the Central University of Technology, and the University of the Free State Women’s Breakfast.
The RCF HDL 30-A is a compact, bi-amped 2-way active touring system designed for medium to large events, both indoors and outdoors. It features two 10-inch woofers and an impressive 4-inch titanium compression driver. Its time-coherent waveguide is the result of extensive research and design. The HDL 30-A is also the first line array in a composite cabinet, featuring a zero-degree phase and ultra-linear amplitude response.
“The gain before feedback is awesome!” Stefan joked. “But in all seriousness, my technicians love it—it’s powerful, sensitive, and the coverage is amazing. This is a game-changer! Bloem needed it, and now we can’t wait to expand!”
In addition, JP Schroeder and Joubert Boshoff from Creative Kilowatt attended RCF training presented by Jaco Beukes and Kyle Freemantle at DWR Distribution in Johannesburg. The course covered theory and practical implementation, with day two focusing on rigging and tuning.
The DWR team is grateful for the ongoing relationship with Stefan and believes he has made a great choice in the RCF system. “I think it’s an incredibly powerful solution that’s highly capable,” commented Jaco Beukes. “There are a lot of advanced features that are normally only accessible in much more elite systems.
