We will miss you Richard

It is with great sadness that we pay tribute to Richard Blamire, husband, dad, friend and the owner of Cape Staging who died tragically in a motorbike accident on the 8th November.

Living in Bergvliet, Cape Town, Richard was well-known in the South African events industry having previously worked at Gearhouse, Sound Harmonics and was a close collaborator with Dream Sets. For Sean Hoey of Dream Sets, Richard was one of his best friends. They shared a keen interest in all things mechanical and a love for their craft and family (and Border Collies). With an eye for detail and a creative flair, Richard was able to produce beautiful pieces for events, sometimes even furniture that you would only dream of having in your home. More importantly, he was just one of the people that made you feel like family.

It was at home though, where Richard was a pillar of strength. He was greatly loved by his two boys and his beautiful and talented wife, Lynne Poulsen Blamire. The walk has not been easy but Lynne, a pianist, singer, music composer, songwriter, programmer and arranger who studied music at the University of Cape Town, has been brave. She is out performing already, strong for her boys, and loved by many people around her.

DWR Distributions’ SOS Charity fund was established a year ago to help in times like these. SOS will be giving three grocery vouchers, each to the value of R3 000 to Lynne over the next three months. We also ask that should you need a performer at your next event, consider Lynne. If you aren’t familiar with her work, you can go to her website: www.lynnepoulsen.co.za, or just google her name and you’ll realize that she is an artist who will add value to any event.  To make contact e-mail: [email protected].
