A soldier in the frontline of the South African technical industry, it’s with a sad heart that the industry bid farewell to Lebogang Sediane, a lighting technician and freelancer, regularly working for companies like MGG, Gearhouse, AV Unlimited, Stage Effects and many more.

Lebogang, fondly known as Lebza, passed away on 25thSeptember and leaves behind his wife Nokuthula and two children, Kutlwano (8 years old) and Katlego (2 years old).

Tamsyn Strydom from MGG was part of a Whats Up group comprising of staff, freelancers and various companies that Lebza freelanced with, who clubbed together to help the family during this difficult time. The SOS Charity fund donated R10 000 towards the funeral cost.

“Lebza will be remembered for his calm and friendly manner, he went over and above, always with a smile, to help those who were struggling and asked for nothing in return,” Tamsyn says. “He was a constant source of inspiration and encouragement to those around him. His passion was lighting and over the many years he excelled as one of South Africa’s best Lighting Technicians”.

Said Duncan Riley of the SOS, “Thank you for the opportunity to assist. The SOS charity fund was established for sad cases like this where we are able to help thanks to the backing and support of the industry. Our sincere condolences to the family.”
