“Being in the theatre took me back quite a few years,” said Mauritz, recalling his student days at Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria. “It was very nice to be in this theatrical environment again.”

Mauritz was chuffed with his compliment of lighting, some of which belonged to the theatre. The total comprised of 16 Robe MMX fixtures, 12 Robe Pointes, 40 Robin 600 LEDWash, 12 Robin LEDBeam 100 and 30 Clay Paky Sharpies.

“We made use of three big square ground support structures, which stood on the stage and made it easy to position the light fixtures,” said Mauritz. “The bands were located within the ground support, something new which created a very interesting look. The set up included LED screens which we could fly in and out and which revealed the band.”

The show was brought to life with the performance of respected artists, amongst others Dana Winner, Riana Nel, Reynardt Hugo, Juan “Floors” Oosthuizen and Dewal Wasserfall.
