New gear for Shattered Glass

17 April 2013

Ericcson launch   South African based rental company, Shattered Glass, have bought 20 new Robin fixtures and an Avolites Tiger Touch to cater for upcoming events and roadshows.

Richard Horwell from Shattered Glass acquired 12 x Robin LEDBeam100s, 8 x Robin 300LEDBeams and a Tiger Touch. “We purchased the fixtures mostly to cater for an upcoming FNB Roadshow – aimed at the banking institution’s employees – that will travel around the country,” said Horwell.

To test the units prior to the event, Horwell  has included the Robin 300LEDBeams for the upcoming Jacaranda Day, a concert held by the radio station with the same name, at Supersport Park, Centurion on the 20th April.

When Shattered Glass found out that the stage at the event would be smaller than initially anticipated, they decided to add the Robin 300LEDBeams to the rig, particularly because of the fixture’s zoom.     The Robin 100LEDBeams have already been used at a gala dinner for Ericsson, held at Legend Lodge, in the Waterberg Region of Limpopo. “I scattered the Robin 100LEDBeamss on stage and they punched through the washes,” he said and smilingly adds, “Because the fixtures are so small, I find our technicians are a bit scared they will break easily.”

As for the Tiger Touch, Horwell and his technians, have had a few days to sit and play on the console. “We’re starting to win. There are a lot of things done differently, but once I’ve wrapped my head around it I know I’ll love it.”
