Intricacies of SA people portrayed through music and drama

SHANGO INVITATION

Different community theatre actors around the City of Tshwane will join in the action on stage during this year’s HELLO Community Arts Festival at the Breytenbach Theatre, from 25 to 27 August. The event will feature a production called Shango that tells the story of current land and reform problems through music and drama.

It reveals the intricacies of our South African people searching for their spiritual wealth bound to their land.

The festival will showcase a variety of interactive art installations and performances from participating community theatre groups and artists, endorsing the festival’s motto, For and by the community. Performers include actors who won awards at the HELLO Community Theatre Awards in 2015.

The opening performance will take place at the Breytenbach Theatre (137 Gerhard Moerdyk Street, Sunnyside) on 25 August at 19:00.

Tickets are R30 per performance and R100 for a day pass.
