Cape Town based Eastern Acoustics have recently joined the MA Lighting family with the purchase of the grandMA2 ultra-light supplied by DWR Distribution.
Eastern Acoustics was found in the eighties and is an audio-visual company that specialises in all types of events from theatre productions to concerts, conferences and festivals.
Yasheen Abdullah has years of working on the MA platform, but recently joined Akbar “Aki” Khan and his team at Eastern Acoustics as Project Manager and Lighting Designer. “Having been a user and having the MA experience, the choice to go this route was not difficult and I was pleased to introduce the brand to Eastern Acoustics,” said Yasheen. “The capabilities of the grandMA2 ultra-light are endless and it’s highly interactive. There is the versatility of being able to use the on-board build-in effects or the option to create your own. I am still learning but there is so much more you can do, want to do and will do in the future! I have so many ideas in my head. It’s extremely powerful and is the one console that I have spent endless hours on, enjoying every minute.”
The grandMA2 ultra-light will be used on various types of events from live bands and music and jazz festivals to dance shows, church gatherings, corporate events and wine festivals.
“I think from a personal capacity just having the privilege and capability to do what you love on a day to day basis, in an environment with Eastern Acousitcs, is great,” ended Yasheen. “I only see good times and sleepless nights ahead!”

The grandMA2 ultra-light features the full network performance of the grandMA2 series. All controls are at the same place as on the on bigger consoles.
With its 4,096 parameters and 6 DMX outputs the grandMA2 ultra-light is the perfect backup solution too. It brings all the features of the series 2 consoles to smaller shows and budgets, including intuitive and fast control of all lighting genres and the handling of an almost infinite number of presets, cues, pages, sequences and effects.
All grandMA2 consoles are optionally available as Silent Version with optimised fan for noise-sensitive environments.
