Mauritz Jacob from Dream Sets used his newly acquired 75 SPX Philips Selecons in the rig for the AFI (African Fashion International) Cape Town Fashion Week, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre recently.
“I was just amazed by the easy and effective way they operate,” commented Jacobs, who was the LD for this occasion. “I have been doing big fashion shows since 2002 with the ETC Source Fours. Yes, they are also great lights but it was always a rather large job to the ramp lights right for the cameras.”
He adds, “The focus / zoom function on the SPX Selecons is just amazing!! You can soften the beam without losing the shape of the light. And then there is the fully adjustable beam distribution function that is so very effective…. I would definitely advise anyone to first have a look at these fixtures before spending money on just “any other” product.”
