Before Mediatech: Meet Paul Erik Haseloop

30 June 2011

Paul Erik Haseloop

Director New Business and Key Account Management

Prolyte

Paul Erik Haseloop from Prolyte will be visiting Mediatech this year. Many of you have met and know Paul already, but here is his feedback, which you may not know!

Nic asked: “How did you get into the industry?”

In 1997 I managed the expansion of the Prolyte premises (buildings) for the owner, Mr Fokko Smeding. After a few weeks I was asked if I would be interested in becoming involved in sales for Prolyte and I stayed since then. The thing in our industry is: If you like it and fit in you are hooked for life !!!!!!!

Derek asked: “What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?”

I’m not sure you want to know !!!!

Dave asked: “Do you have any interests / hobbies outside the industry?”

I’m a fanatic fisherman and I try to make time for it as much as possible next to my busy travel schedule.

Cherine asked: “What is your most impressive international event / project?”

The Frankfurt show is always a highlight for us because we meet lots of friends and customers there. We did a lot of projects during the years but things like the big Spaceroofs, Olympic Games and the Turfontein Horserace Track in Johannesburg are still very impressive.

Simon asked: “What do you like about South Africa and what places of interest have you visited during any of your stays here.”

South African people are very friendly and straightforward in general, the steaks are the best in the world and the “boerewors” is fabulous. Mike’s bar (Mike Jones) is famous worldwide and it’s a place I always try to visit. If it`s winter in Europe the sun is shining in SA and that also makes it a great country to visit. I have been in some places during my visits, like Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dullstroom, Pretoria etc.

Duncan asked: “Are you here for work or for wine?”

We are working in the entertainment industry Duncan, since when can we work without drinking wine!

Sherryn asked: “Could you name one of your little pleasures in life?”

Very easy answer for me, seeing my daughters again when coming home.
