Avolites rock with Third Day

03 December 2009

When Christian rock band Third Day came to South African shores in November, they played to a full house at the Wave House in Durban. Insane Sound & Lighting was responsible for the technical requirements using an Avolites Pearl for control.

The show, which included an inspirational message from local evangelists Angus Buchan, is said to be one of the best the venue has ever put on. The response from the audience was phenomenal, the lighting was fantastic and it was brought with a message of hope which was well received.

Talking of hope, things are on the up for Durban based rental company Insane Sound & Lighting who are fully booked for December. The company purchased their Avolites Pearl in June, though Vimal Rawjee admits it did make him intimidated to say the least! ” I’d  never  used  a  console  before  and  when I was forced to design a  show on the Avolites Pearl it was a bit daunting. A one  hour  crash  course  and  I  was  able  to create  pallets,  plot cues  and  able to busk the  show. Now I absolutely love using the Avolites Pearl 2010.”

The team from Insane Sound & Lighting did the set up and plotting for the Third Day concert while the band’s LD from the United States ran the show on the night.

Congratulations also extend to Insane Sound & Lighting who are anticipating the arrival of four Robe Colour Wash 700 EATs, their first Robe purchase. We trust that there will be no looking back.
