The Vodacom Business NOW-ology seminar, attended by 1 000 delegates, was held at Vodaworld Midrand at the end of October with the full technical supply by MGG Productions.
“The event demonstrated future technology,” explains Mark Gaylard, owner of MGG. To give an example (quoting from the Vodacom website): “In less than 10 minutes the Vodacom Business team, ably assisted by Markus J Krauss, VP Service Providers Novell Europe Middle East & Arica, had added virtual servers, completed their configuration with the required operating systems, data bases and applications, as well as set the access, security levels and compliance rules. All of this was on a live system operating in the Vodacom Business Data Centre.” 
It is remarkable that the technology seen in Sci-Fi movies is steadily becoming reality and part of the average person’s daily life. NOW-ology talked of Workload Migration, control to manage IT assets and Cloud Service…. words foreign now but soon phrases we’ll all be familiar with. We have come far. 
Hats off to Herman Wessels, LD from MGG, who used his expertise to create a lighting show that truly enhanced the seminar, which included a presentation by Mike Lipschitz (The Science of Nowology – www.nowology.co.za). All lighting gear, except the Robe 700 Beams which were placed on the stage area for beam work, were flown and controlled by a grandMA full size. The Vodadome within VodaWorld is equipped with a permanent large screen and MGG added three additional screens and projection as well as two ART 2000 Power Cubes.
The show looked exceptional. Congratulations to all involved.
