A stunning performance with a lighting display second to none, saw Elvis Blue voted as South Africa’s newest Idol on Tuesday evening, 2nd November. To Joshua Cutts who did an amazing job as LD, and to the technical crew, working really hard behind the scenes to make things happen, congratulations! A total of 2 398 962 valid votes were cast between the broadcast of the Top 2 Spectacular on Sunday, and Monday evening ([1 November at 22:00), when the voting for Idols Season 6 closed. In an extraordinary gesture of friendship, Elvis and L’loyd Cele, runner up, decided to share the cash prize of R500 000, which meant that each contestant – both of which are married and fathers – walked away with R250 000.
