What a night! The BitterSweet Bash was one filled with mixed emotions as DWR Distribution bid farewell to the “birthday boy” Dave Whitehouse, who has chosen the UK as his new home, and also as DWR celebrated its 10th anniversary. With the band Prime Circle one of the highlights of the evening, friends in the industry enjoyed chatting under a winter sky as they sipped Glühwein or a pint of beer. “I was heartbroken to see Dave leave,” said Duncan Riley of DWR. “I would like to thank him for all he has meant to us at DWR, not just as a sales person but more importantly as a member of the family.”

The BitterSweet Bash was hosted at DWR Distribution. “It’s the people who make this event special, and I’d like to thank everyone who joined us,” said Duncan.

Special thanks extends to the following people:

  • Prime Circle, lit by Vincent van Niekerk, made the party unforgettable. Thank you to Marco Gomes and the band for being here and for making beautiful music.
  • South African Breweries were a sponsor of the event and an enormous thanks to Shaun Heunis from Gig Rig who went out of his way to help us more than we could ever have asked for. The event looked like a beer garden, long wooden tables and benches with fairy lights hanging overhead. Thank you Shaun.
  • The stunning photos were taken by Janco Haywood Photography.
  • The great guys at Eyethu Events for taking care of security. Thank you.
  • Muhammed Mustafa from Cairo Schwarma for arriving with your truck to feed our guests. The cues never ended, but we saw a lot of chatting going on in the line!
  • Thank you to Chad Johnson from Party Tech for always helping us.
  • Thanks to Berick Austin for the waiters.
  • Thanks Di van Noort for all the graphics design work  and to Shelley Bryson from Chevalier for the marketing items.
  • Thank you for technical assistance from Black Motion, Gearhouse South Africa and MGG Productions.
  • Thank you to all at DWR and your families who helped! You carried benches, set up, and so much more. Thanks to “DJ Schalk” and “DJ Brad” for entertaining the crowd! Everyone worked so hard and kept smiling. Thanks to Nick Britz and Gareth Chambers for arranging the technical and of course to Robert Izzett who had the idea to have a party!

Dave Whitehouse it has been an honour to know you and work with you. We hope you are happy and all the best for a bright future!
