HELLO Community Arts Festival presents Shango, a script concept developed by Tintswalo Millicent Mashele and Hardus Koekemoer and directed by Tintswalo Millicent Mashele. Don’t miss out on this moving production on 8 and 9 April at 19:30 and 10 April at 15:00 at the Breytenbach Theatre.
HELLO is an initiative of the Breytenbach Theatre in Tshwane, 93.6 Shwane FM and DWR Distribution.
Current land and reform problems will be portrayed in the story, told through the modern day story teller, and parodied with the actions portrayingthe history of a tribe in search of land. A story told through drama and music that reveals the intricacies of our South African people searching for their spiritual wealth bound to their land.
The performers in the new musical production “Shango” consist of actors who won best production in the HELLO Community Theatre Awards 2015.
The new production is directed by Tintswalo Millicent Mashele, and musical direction will be handled by Patrick Mabona. Choreography and the physical theatre sequences will be devised by the cast and director. Life size elephants, buffalo and ostrich puppets will join the action on stage.
